International Visitor Arrivals to Georgia: October, 2017

In January – October, 2017 the number of international arrivals in Georgia amounted to 6,430,824, showing an increase of 18.8% compared to the same period of previous year. Out of the total number of visits, 3,042,907 lasted longer than 24 hours (+ 28%). The majority of foreign travelers were Azerbaijanian (+10.8%), Armenian (+15.8%), Russian (+33.3%), Turkish (-4.1%) and Iranian (+122.8%).

A positive trend in arrivals was also observed among citizens of the European Union countries. A notable increase was registered of British +40%, Austrian +36.8%, Dutchman +34.6%, French +30.4% and German +29.1% travelers. Exceptional growth in arrivals was recorded of citizens of the following countries: Saudi Arabia +171.5%, Kuwait +150.3%, Iran +122.8%, Republic of Korea +88.1%, Uzbekistan +75.4%, India +70% and China +56.9%.

During the period of January – October, 162 countries recorded an increase in the number of international arrivals, which in figures amounted to 1,064,704. Top ten countries showing increase of more than 10,000 international arrivals registered cumulative increase amounting to 920,552 (86% of total increase).

During this period, 125 countries recorded an increase in the number of international arrivals, which in total amounted to 83,199. Top nine countries showing increase of more than 1,000 international arrivals registered cumulative increase amounting to 73,586 (88% of total increase).

It should be noted that, the marketing campaigns conducted by GNTA plays a significant role.
